Murals...

The first time I saw graffiti, I was 14 years old at my cousin’s house. The year was 1989 and that day I began a journey that would lead to every other endeavour that I have come across ever since. Chances are that if you clicked on my site, it is because you heard of DUROTHETHIRD the graffiti artist. Graffiti has enabled me to travel around the world, gain international recognition, publish and international magazine, and even on the other level endure local ridicule (especially on the internet by people who have never even met me). But what ever the case, Graffiti is what allowed me to unleash the most wrath (as i say). I started running around Scarborough tagging my name at the time THE SPANISH KNIGHT, than in 1993 my father at the dinner table called me EL DURO, something that stuck with me for good.

Years later i learned of a New York Graffiti king called DURO ONE - CIA...and than another DURO somewhere else in the world. So I said to myself, screw it I'M DUROTHETHIRD. Also at the time I was the first writer in the Canadian graffiti scene to attempt the new state of the art 3D LETTERING style invented by writers ERNI in New York, and DELTA from Europe. Although it took years for my letters to get any originality, it was the illustrious strides I made with composition, massive size and originality that took me to where I am today. In my career I have had many teachers such as my cousin SADY, LOOMIT (Germany) and BROKE (Australia) and I have taught my skills to others as well such as SADER, DYSKE and WATER. Graffiti is a progression and I took it as my duty to progress it as far as possible. A scene will only grow if the participants in the scene progress with it and not recess with it. To date I have painted almost 400 murals and every once in a while I go out and paint again, just to prove that I am alive...

Shut up with your insane explanations and let me see some murals!!!
